North Georgia Weather
Tubing on any river is an adventure as you’re dealing with nature and the beauty and joy of the outdoors.
North Georgia is fortunate to have beautiful weather most days – however, we also have summer storms or afternoon thunderstorms that can wreak havoc on a day’s plans.
We always recommend that you check the weather before you visit to avoid any storms or frustration by arriving only to find out a storm is on its way! Also note – that if you’re on the river and it begins to storm – get out of the water and head to the edge of the road. Our buses will come by and pick you up.
Water Levels
One of the biggest concerns we hear from customers are regarding the water level. As this is a natural occurring river, water levels can vary by the day. Most days are ideal days to float down the river with ease. However, with little rain, especially late in the summer, your trip down the river can be a little bumpy with some areas too shallow to truly float without a push-off stick or walking in some shallow areas earlier in your tubing adventure. Other days following major storms may actually be too dangerous to even travel down the river.
Typically the water does get too high a few days every summer so those days we do close for safety reasons. Note that 1.5 feet on the river gage is too deep for safety.
